 Hotel Chocolat Inventing Room - February 2021   Introduction This month another box of Hotel Chocolat Inventing Room goodies arrived on my doorstep, of which there were salted Honduran milk pistachios, a cinnamon caramel cookie, "fire and ice" chocolates, some filled chocolates and some white hot chocolate. We also had ample opportunity to put our tastebuds to the test this month, with not one, but two taste offs, the first being two types of coffee macaron (latte and americano) and the second being three takes on white hot chocolate (vanilla-white, crème brûlée and caramelised white). After tasting we had to tell them which one was our favourite. So what were this months' chocolates like? Find out below. Hotel Chocolat Single Origin Collection Review Introduction As if I haven't mentioned it enough times already, I am a big fan of single origin chocolate. Whilst I enjoy the many different blends of chocolate offered by numerous brands, the joy of tasting the unique flavour profiles of single origin really can't be understated. If you haven't heard of single origin before, it means that the cocoa in your chocolate has come from a particular country (or cocoa growing estate within that country if its called "single estate"), lending it a distinct flavour profile unique to that country. I love the multitude of interesting flavours that can be brought out of the cocoa and how each type of cocoa tastes completely different from the next. Flavour notes can range from fruity to earthy, from nutty to red wine and many more. Some cocoa profiles result in a very rich chocolate, others mellow.
